Ein starkes Stück hat sich in dieser Woche der Deutsche Leichtathletik Verband (DLV) geleistet. Es geht um die Geherin Sabine Krantz. Sie hatte bei der deutschen Straßen-Meisterschaft am 11. Juni in Erfurt mit 1h 31min die erforderliche Qualifikationszeit für die Strecke über 20km erreicht. Allerdings hatte der DLV diese Veranstaltung nicht beim Leichtathletikweltverband IAAF angemeldet, so dass eine WM-Qualifikation für Krantz trotz geeigneter Zeit nicht möglich war.
